A Quick Lesson on Outdoor Furniture
Spring is in the air and summer is right around the corner, which means, we are right on the cusp of outdoor furniture season! AHHHHHHH! Can you hear me screaming through the computer?
Because I am.
Mother’s Day! Graduation! Pool parties! BBQs! Father’s Day! The Fourth of July! All of my favorite things happen in summer and I can’t wait, but that means, you’ve gotta get your outdoor furniture upholstered just in time for all of those wonderful summer activities.
Some of the main questions clients ask during these spring and summer months are whether or not it’s worth getting your outdoor furniture upholstered, or just simply buy something new? Without fail, I always remind my clients that it’s always better to save your existing quality furniture frame and simply revamp your outdoor cushions with quality foam and fabric than throw it into a landfill and buy something retail that will last you a year or two.
Standard foam and fabric in most retail stores are going to be pretty low quality or average quality. Meaning, most likely then not, your furniture will last you a year to three years if you’ve taken excellent care of it, not left things out in the cold, rain, or sun, and brought in your cushions during the winter months.
If that sounds totally reasonable for you, then go for it. But, as for me, I personally love using my outdoor furniture as much as possible in the spring and summertime, so I need something that’s durable, waterproof, and just as comfortable as my sofa inside of my house.
